Student Evicted From Moslem-Only Class ~ in CANADA

This is yet another outrageous example of islamic accommodation...

Ontario university defends decision to kick non-Muslim out of course that teaches Islamic preaching ~  |  More from Jen Gerson | @jengerson

The Huron College course — The Muslim Voice: Islamic Preaching, Public Speaking and Worship — was, according to the syllabus, “open to Muslim men and women who offer religious leadership and/or speak publicly about Islam on behalf of their communities.

A London, Ont., university is defending its decision to restrict access to a course that teaches Muslims how to proselytize.
The Huron College course — The Muslim Voice: Islamic Preaching, Public Speaking and Worship — was, according to the syllabus, “open to Muslim men and women who offer religious leadership and/or speak publicly about Islam on behalf of their communities.”
The school allowed a non-Muslim to enrol in the course, but then kicked him out because, they said, they didn’t want to open the course to auditors. That student, Moray Watson, is an accountant who says he is an opponent of Islamic extremism and enrolled in the course partly to test the prerequisite in the syllabus.
I’m not allowed to take the course because I’m not a Muslim
“[The school] gets $6.5-million [from the government]. Some of it is mine and I’m not allowed to take the course because I’m not a Muslim,” he said.
After he complained, the school changed the syllabus, saying the course was “open to men and women who offer religious leadership to Muslim communities and/or speak publicly about Islam on behalf of a Muslim community.” It noted: “Enrollment is limited; preference is given to matriculated students.”
While both the professor and the school have said Mr. Watson could re-enroll in the course if he were willing to take it for credit, they defended the need to restrict the class to Muslims or people who serve the Muslim community.
Stephen McClatchie, the principal of the college, said he regretted that Mr. Watson was allowed to successfully sign up for the course before the requirements were clarified.
“That was clearly something we should have done better. Situations like this arise and it’s an occasion for us to review our auditing policy, which we will certainly be doing coming out of this, as well as our expectations coming out of pastoral colleges,” he said.
Huron College, an affiliate of the University of Western Ontario that started out as an Anglican seminary, offers several practical religious courses aimed at teaching future priests and Christian church leaders rhetorical and preaching skills.
This year, the school created a course aimed at Muslims, devised by Ingrid Mattson, the London and Windsor Community Chair in Islamic Studies, an academic position that focuses on research and teaching relevant to Islamic thought and theology.
I thought he may have been Muslim
She said that as a practical matter, the course is largely graded on a student’s ability to, for example, preach Islamic scripture and deliver an Islamic blessing. The interactive nature of the course makes it difficult for an auditor, she said, but there’s no religious requirement for this class, per se.

The Baghead, Dr. Ingrid Mattson
“I thought [Mr. Watson] may have been Muslim. I had no idea when he came to class whether he was Muslim or not,” she said.
Mr. Watson said he believes that the prohibition against auditors was put in place to keep non-Muslims like himself out of the class.
“It was the speed at which I was rejected,” he said, noting another auditor was allowed to take the course for credit. “I [received] an email telling me her course was full. … I was never given the option of taking her course for credit.”
If Mr. Watson continued to pursue a spot in the class, Mr. McClatchie said, the school would talk to him about the practical requirements, as it did when other students made similar requests.
A Buddhist student tried to take a course on Christian homiletics a few years ago. After some discussion, it was decided that the student in that case would not be comfortable with some of the requirements.
“We do not feel we have discriminated against him on the basis of religion. Here, we were concerned about the experience of students in what is a practical class and their need to apply leadership skills from a particular perspective,” said Mr. McClatchie.
Yet Mr. Watson believes he is unable to pursue a spot in the course as he doesn’t meet the prerequisites spelled out in the syllabus.
I would think the Islam and politics class would have been much more suited to his interests
James Turk, the executive director of the Canadian Association of University Teachers, said his group opposes faith tests. The exception, however, is seminaries. It’s reasonable, Mr. Turk said, to require students who are training to be leaders within their religious communities to adhere to those beliefs.
Mr. Watson believes a course on how to preach is better suited for a mosque or community centre than it is for a publicly funded university. The student believes he should have the right to see what Ms. Mattson is teaching, particularly in light of what he believes is a growing strain of Islamic extremism in the community.
Ms. Mattson encouraged Mr. Watson to take one of her alternative courses on Islam and politics instead.
“I don’t know to what extent he has a genuine interest or to what extent he has an ideological commitment to a certain world view of Muslims,” she said. “There are people who have genuine concerns and there are ways for them to engage in discussions with Muslims, or with me, about these issues. I would think the Islam and politics class would have been much more suited to his interests.”

Going Viral ~ A Serious Talk About Islam

I think it's time to have a serious talk...

I have been noticing a trend within the caliphate movement, in which the civilizational jihad is alive and well and we are sitting back. There is a strong counter-movement, but all the same, we are not doing enough to beat it back.

I do not want history to repeat itself i.e. the Siege of Vienna? There is a very serious plot in the making ( well, it's been going on for 1,400 years) as we witness how the East and West are conflicting via exploitation of the West, our Constitutions, and Magna Carta. But if engaging in kinetic conflict is our only recourse left to us, then we must be at the ready.

We don't want another Defensive Crusade, but our hand is being forced:

We have to admit that our approach to The Scourge is not being met with the needed iron fist, certainly not by those we entrust to protect the integrity of the West. Our politicians are puppets to influential powers in the Middle East.

But, we have to stop being afraid of the 1,400 year old secret, determined to boil civilized CIVILIZATION as we know it:

Taqiyya Trials in Europe

(Full disclosure, I am not only Co-Host with Tim Burton on various radio programs, but I am also his friend. I am grateful to such prolific voices, like Robert Spencer and especially Enza Ferreri, for this).

Taqiyya Trials in Europe
by Enza Ferreri

Enza Ferreri
The issue of taqiyya – the religious permission, indeed virtue, of Muslim deception to infidels for the good of Islam – is such a uniquely crucial aspect of the relationship between Muslims and non-Muslims, especially, like in the West, when the former are a minority and the latter a majority, that there have been at least a couple of trials in Europe revolving around it, one recent and the other current.
In May 2013 there was a legal case in Italy in which a former member of the Muslim Brotherhood, Khalid Chaouki, a Moroccan Muslim immigrant to Italy and now MP, sued another Moroccan immigrant, Souad Sbai, a woman journalist and former Italian MP who had accused him of practicing taqiyya when he was saying that he had renounced the Brotherhood while in fact he still ’shared its goals and ideas of dangerous, extreme Islam’. He lost the case.
In Britain, in the last few days of 2013 Tim Burton, the Radio Officer of the newly-formed Liberty GB, an outspoken counterjihad, pro-Western and Christian civilisation party, got into trouble.
I have to declare an interest in the matter since I am the party’s Press Officer. Liberty GB has some similarities to Holland’s Freedom Party of Geert Wilders, although in no way, having started as recently as March 2013, it’s as yet so popular. We are running in the coming elections for the European Parliament in May.
Tim Burton has been charged by the Police with racially aggravated harassment for a few tweets and is soon due to appear in court.
At this point I must introduce the individual he tweeted about, a prominent albeit colourful Muslim whom Tim called ‘a mendacious grievance-mongering taqiyya-artist’ on Twitter. He is Fiyaz Mujhal, founder and director of Tell MAMA (Measuring Anti-Muslim Attacks), an organisation that acts like a sort of helpline for the victims of ‘Islamophobia’ and in so doing monitors the entity of what it must consider a grave social problem.
If you are looking for a balanced assessment of the impact of Muslim crime, violence, stealth jihad and terrorism on British society you will not find it on Tell MAMA’s literature or website. But you’ll see plenty of examples of ‘hate’ towards Muslims, a great number of which in the form of films, books, political campaigns and, of course, ‘cyber harassment’, ‘cyber bullying’, ‘cyber abuse’, ‘cyber incitement’, ‘cyber threats’, ‘cyber stalking’, or ‘cyber hate’ – which is what got Tim in a legal jam.
Tell MAMA and the other organisation founded by Mr Mujhal, Faith Matters, had been successful in their demand that the UK Home Office ban Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer from entering the country.
The group has a Working Definition of Anti-Muslim Prejudice that includes ‘insults or attacks against Islam’, of which it’s safe to assume well-documented criticisms will be seen as examples. It is also good at crafting new expressions like ‘Anti-Muslim Cultural Racism’, which is Liberty GB’s sin in Tell MAMA’s eyes, as it describes us as ‘guilty of racialising Muslims’. How somebody can achieve such a feat is anyone’s guess.
What prompted Tim Burton to label Mr Mujhal on Twitter “a mendacious grievance-mongering taqiyya-artist” and “a lying Muslim scumbag” were some revelations appeared in The Daily Telegraph. In the wake of the beheading of British soldier Lee Rigby in a London street by two jihadists crying “Allahu Akbar” and giving the Quran as their motive in May of last year, Mr Mujhal in June reported
“a wave of attacks, harassment, and hate-filled speech against Muslims … an unprecedented number of incidents”, including “a rise in street harassment of Muslims – unprovoked, opportunistic attacks from strangers as Muslims go about their lives”.
He added: “Over the past week or so, these sorts of hate crimes have noticeably increased in number and, in many instances, become more extreme.
“The scale of the backlash is astounding … there has been a massive spike in anti-Muslim prejudice. A sense of endemic fear has gripped Muslim communities.”
The media, especially the BBC, have accepted the claims without question. A presenter on Radio 4’s influential Today programme stated that attacks on Muslims were now “on a very serious scale”.
Talk of a “massive anti-Muslim backlash” has become routine. And it is that figure issued by Tell Mama – of, to date, 212 “anti-Muslim incidents” since the Woolwich murder – which has formed the basis of nearly all this reporting.
But when journalist Andrew Gilligan investigated a bit further, it turned out that 57 per cent of the 212 reports referred to activity occurring just online, like postings on Twitter and Facebook, a further 16 per cent of the 212 reports had not been verified and not all the online abuse even originated in Britain.
Contrary to Tell MAMA’s claims of a climate of violence, only 17 of the 212 incidents, 8 per cent, involved the physical targeting of people and there were no attacks on anyone serious enough to require medical treatment.
The organisation has received a total of £375,000 from the UK government. But as a consequence of these revelations and even previous discoveries of discrepancies between its figures and police official figures – showing Tell MAMA’s inflated rates of and increase in anti-Muslim crimes – it had its public funding discontinued.
Mujhal asserted that tougher sentences were needed to tackle Islamophobic crime, noting that the guidelines by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to monitor social media were “not fit for purpose”.
“They raised the bar of prosecution significantly.
“Now unless there is a direct threat to somebody on Twitter or Facebook, the CPS will not prosecute. The CPS is just plainly out of sync with reality.
“We also need more robust sentencing. In one case, a pig’s head was left outside a mosque and the perpetrator came away with a community sentence.
Perhaps the lawsuit against Tim Burton is part of this campaign which seems apparently to target in particular social media.
Liberty GB is trying to make taqiyya the keystone of this trial. Given the special position of taqiyya in the relationship between Muslims and non-Muslims, especially in non-Muslim-majority countries, if we, by making this case public, manage to make the British and Western people understand the meaning and nature of taqiyya, we will have managed to make them understand the whole nature of Islam in relation to us through it.
The Western public has been misled about Islam and believes that the ‘religion of peace’ is fundamentally similar to Christianity in its ethical outlook. Replace God with Allah, Jesus with Muhammad, and you still have the same moral commandments: love your enemies, be benevolent towards non-Muslims, and thou shall not lie or give false testimony. If the authority of a court can establish that taqiyya was indeed practised, Westerners can start to see that lying to them is not only allowed but encouraged by Islam as one of the means of submitting them to it, which is the final goal. As a consequence of this, people in the West may gradually become more and more reluctant to accept everything that Muslims say about Islam and may begin to doubt all the distortions they are currently fed.
One issue that we intend to bring to public attention is this: how can a Muslim’s swearing on the Quran in court be accepted as declaration of the truthfulness of his testimony when the very book he is swearing on gives him divine permission to lie?

National Council of Canadian Muslims ~ Ban It!

National Council of Canadian Muslims directors praised Muslim Brotherhood founder, vowed to implement his doctrine in Canada

Now the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) is suing the Canadian Prime Minister for daring to suggest they have ties to Hamas, which styles itself “the Muslim Brotherhood for Palestine.”
“Current NCCM / CAIR-CAN Director Khadija Haffajee was on the Editorial advisory board of a magazine hailing the Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna as ‘a True Guide,’” from Point de Bascule, February 7 (thanks to Marc):
Hassan al-Banna was described as a role model by three senior directors of the NCCM / CAIR-CAN
When CAIR-CAN became the National Council of Canadian Muslims, it presented itself as “a leading voice that enriches Canadian society through Muslim civic engagement and the promotion of human rights.”
nccm haffajee k

This description is misleading given the fact that many of the leaders of the NCCM / CAIR-CAN (past and present) have collaborated with organizations in Canada and abroad whose track records are incompatible with human rights. Although the NCCM / CAIR-CAN Executive Director Ihsaan Gardee claimed in a CBC interview that his organization has never had any relationship with the
Washington-based Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), documents issued by his own organization prove otherwise.
In the context of the NCCM’s recent defamation suit against the PMO for having linked the NCCM to Hamas, discussing the relationship between Washington-based CAIR and the NCCM / CAIR-CAN is all the more relevant given the fact that in a 2009 American case, a federal judge concluded that “The [U.S.] government has produced ample evidence to establish the associations of CAIR, ISNA [and other organizations] with Hamas.”
The NCCM / CAIR-CAN’s claim that it is committed to human rights can also be challenged by looking at the ideologues endorsed by the leaders of this organization over the years. Given the fact that important leaders of the NCCM / CAIR-CAN have openly endorsed ideologues whose goal is to establish a totalitarian society based on sharia, this organization must be considered a threat to human rights and definitely not a source of enrichment for Canadian society.
One such totalitarian ideologue who has been endorsed by prominent NCCM / CAIR-CAN directors is Hassan al-Banna, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood. Al-Banna advocated the establishment of a society based on sharia and in his essay To what do we invite humanity?, he praised Hitler as a role model for Muslims looking for “success, influence and fortune.” As a matter of fact, when the New York Times announced Hassan al-Banna’s death in 1949, it highlighted that his organization, the Muslim Brotherhood, had become a movement “with mystic and fascist overtones.”
Hassan al-Banna was openly endorsed by at least three senior NCCM / CAIR-CAN directors. In 1999, before the incorporation of CAIR-CAN, current NCCM director Khadija Haffajee was on the Editorial advisory board of Islamic Horizons when the magazine hailed Hassan al-Banna as “a True Guide.”
In 2004, while he was on CAIR-CAN’s Board, Jamal Badawi described al-Banna as “most inspirational.” Badawi added that “More than any other individual he [al-Banna] has epitomised twentieth century Islamic thought and ideology.”
In 2012, while he was a CAIR-CAN director, Wael Haddara was also the president of the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC). MAC’s website proclaimed back then that “MAC’s [...] modern roots can be traced to the Islamic revival of the early twentieth century, culminating in the movement of the Muslim Brotherhood. […] MAC adopts and strives to implement Islam […] as understood in its contemporary context by the late Imam, Hassan Albanna, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood. MAC regards this ideology as the best representation of Islam as delivered by Prophet Muhammad.” The same mission statement was already posted on MAC’s website in 2005 when Jamal Badawi and Wael Haddara were both MAC directors and CAIR-CAN directors.
According to the Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Watch, “The Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) appears to be one of the only organizations in the world that has acknowledged its ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.”
Wael Haddara resigned his position on CAIR-CAN’s Board of Directors in April 2012. On December 12, 2012, MAC issued a press release announcing Haddara’s resignation as president of the organization for “personal reasons.” On December 28, 2012, Wael Haddara was identified in an official United Nations document as a member of the Egyptian delegation at the UN. He had become a close advisor to now deposed Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood President Mohamed Morsi. Haddara had just been promoted from the Muslim Brotherhood infrastructure in Canada to the original one in Egypt. This was the logical outcome of Wael Haddara’s involvement with CAIR-CAN and the Muslim Association of Canada.
Khadija Haffajee
CAIR-CAN was incorporated in 2000. When Khadija Haffajee joined its Board of Directors (either in 2000 or 2001), she was already on the Majlis al-Shura of the Islamic Society of North America, ISNA’s decision-making body. Khadija Haffajee was first elected as an ISNA’s administrator in 1997 and re-elected in 2001 and 2004. As a member of ISNA’s leadership, she was on the Editorial advisory Board of Islamic Horizons. ISNA refers to its own publication as “ISNA’s flagship bi-monthly magazine.”
Khadija Haffajee and another current NCCM director, Shahina Siddiqui, have presented their autobiographies in a book entitled Muslim Women Activists in North America: Speaking for Ourselves. It was edited by Katherine Bullock and released in 2005. As this article is being published, the portion of the book concerning Haffajee is still available on Google Books.
ISNA was established in 1982 by the Muslim Brotherhood leadership in North America in order to mobilize and radicalize Muslims outside of college and university campuses. The Muslim Students Association (MSA) had already been established in 1963 to target Muslim students. In the 2009 American legal case referred to previously, the judge remarked that a Muslim Brotherhood document produced as Exhibit 3-64 by the U.S. government “further ties ISNA to the Muslim Brotherhood by listing it as an ‘apparatus’ of the Brotherhood.”
ISNA is number 1 and MSA number 2 in a listing of 29 organizations affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood network in North America that was added to an internal memorandum written by an MB leader in 1991. In this memorandum, the goal pursued by the Muslim Brotherhood in North America is clearly presented:
POINT 4 The Ikhwan (Muslim Brotherhood) must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions… It is a Muslim’s destiny to perform Jihad and work wherever he is and wherever he lands until the final hour comes.”
This memorandum was made public after it was seized by police and produced for evidentiary purposes in a 2008 trial that led to the conviction of all accused in a terror financing case. This excerpt was also quoted in the 2009 American legal case referred to earlier.
In July 2013, the ISNA Development Foundation’s charitable status was revoked by the Canada Revenue Agency because it provided tax receipts for donations made to a non-status organization that was funding a jihadist organization in India. At the time, ISNA’s leaders claimed that “There has been no links of authority or responsibility between the United States and Canadian organizations for a few decades, despite the similarity of names.” When the charity status revocation occurred in July 2013, at least two administrators of ISNA-Canada (Mohamed Bekkari and Khalid Tarabain) were on the U.S.-based ISNA’s Board (ISNA’s Board in June 2013 – ISNA’s Board in August 2013).
Hassan al-Banna’s 50-point Manifesto
One of the articles praising Hassan al-Banna in the March-April 1999 edition of Islamic Horizonshighlighted an important proposal of his totalitarian program: getting rid of all political parties and replacing them by a one-party state (“He [al-Banna] called for mediation between [political] parties and even for their dissolution so they could emerge as a single entity serving according to the guidance of Islam.”)
This one-party state proposal is the first one in Hassan al-Banna’s 50-point Manifesto. According toIkhwanweb, the Muslim Brotherhood’s website, the Manifesto was part of a letter sent by Hassan al-Banna to many Muslim leaders in 1947, including the king and the prime minister of Egypt. It contains fifty proposals for a systematic implementation of sharia. They are grouped in three categories (1. Political, judicial and administrative; 2. Social and educational; 3. Economic). The 50-point Manifesto is available on Point de Bascule.
Here are some of the proposals advocated by Hassan al-Banna and those who revere him as their “True Guide”:…
There is much more. Read it all.

CANADA: Outrage over proposed MUSLIM-ONLY condo complex in a primarily Jewish neighborhood

Residents of a Thornhill community are speaking out over a proposal to construct two Muslim low-income residential highrise buildings in a low-density neighborhood. The proposed condos would be built at the Jaffari Community Centre, at 9000 Bathurst Street next door to Ner Israel Yeshivah, in the Thornhill Woods Community, and would contain 377 units.

BACKGROUND ON JAFFARI CENTER:

JDL  TORONTO, ONTARIO — (Marketwire – Nov. 8, 2012) — Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) — the organization which lodged the complaint with police in May 2012, is pleased to learn the Islamic Shia Ithna Asheri Jamaat of Toronto (ISIJ) — tied to the Jaffari Center in Thornhill, Ontario, and the Toronto East End Madrassah have been put on notice by the York Region Police (YRP) that the antisemitic hate contained in their school curriculum is not acceptable, and reassured by a YRP report suggesting Canadians must examine our level of tolerance for allowing such offensive ideology, that is in conflict with our country’s core values, to be taught to our children.
Is that statue giving the town the middle finger?
Is that statue giving the town the middle finger?
Although criminal charges are not being laid in this instance, the YRP Report makes it clear that further promotion of antisemitic material, resulting in a cumulative effect of hate propaganda, may lead to a different outcome:
“The antisemitic hate contained in the curriculum of Toronto’s East End Madrassah was blatant; it is frightening to learn that this revolting content, including a topic on “The End of Jewish Plots and Treacheries,” is being taught to young children; their minds are being poisoned and I cannot imagine how these youngsters will one day become grown ups capable of functioning as tolerant and respectful adults in a multicultural society,” explained Avi Benlolo, President and CEO of FSWC. “Although criminal charges are not being laid in this case, I think it is incumbent upon the Toronto District School Board, and indeed all Boards of Education who lease their property to private schools, to investigate the content being taught on their premises to ensure an incident of this nature does not happen again.”
“What I don’t understand is where the odious comparison of Jews to Nazis fits into the history books of these organizations,” says Mr. Benlolo. “If they are truly relying on ancient texts, what is the justification for referencing Nazism other than as a form of Holocaust revisionism?”

Toronto: Pro-Khomeni mosque plans to build ‘Muslim Only’ condo towers in lowrise neighbourhood

I understand these Muslim supremacists are planning this in a Jewish neighborhood, of course.
The more the West caves to Islamic supremacism, the more brazen and bullying the demands.
If these Muslims want Muslim residents only, why don’t they stay in their control-ridden native lands, where most non-Muslims have been oppressed, subjugated or ethnically cleansed? Because they want to impose that savage supremacism here.
“Community backlash builds over a Thornhill development,” City News, February 4, 2014 (thanks to Tarek Fatah)
Residents of a Thornhill community are speaking out over a proposal to construct two residential highrise buildings in a low-density neighbourhood.
The proposed condos would be built at the Jaffari Community Centre, at 9000 Bathurst Street, and would contain 377 units.
Residents who live in the Thornhill Woods neighbourhood, located right beside the community centre, say they don’t want the area to become overcrowded.
The Jaffari Centre has submitted a proposal to turn its 30-acre property into a high-density Muslim community which would include the highrise buildings as well as 61 townhouses.
Residents opposed to the plan have started an online petition which had garnered over 2,500 signatures by Monday evening.
Shabbir Jeraj, president of the Jaffari Centre, told CityNews this kind of expansion is going on everywhere in the area.
“As far as we are concerned this is very consistent with all the development that’s going on around us, especially north of Rutherford and Bathurst,” he said.
Neighbourhood residents say they are also concerned because some of the proposed housing will be subsidized, which they believe may decrease their property value.
A meeting has been set up on Tuesday for community members to express their concerns over the development.
